Learn to Run: An 8 Week Program for Beginner Runners

Are you new to running?

Ready to take on your first 5K?

Maybe you’re already running and are looking for some guidance to help you become a stronger, fast, more confident runner?

This 8 Week Learn to Run Program is designed to help you tackle your running goals!


WHAT

  • 8 Week Program for Beginner Runners
  • 60-75min sessions which include a variety of topics:
  1. Proper warm up
  2. Strength training
  3. Proper technique
  4. Drills
  5. Mobility & stretching
  6. Nutrition for Runners
  7. Personalized plans & support

 

WHERE

Meet at The Runner’s Academy. The running portion of this program will take place in the surrounding neighbourhoods with our instructor.

 

WHEN

Tuesdays & Fridays at 7PM

 

START DATE

GOAL RACE (not included in cost of program)

Pride & Remembrance 5K on June 22nd, 2019

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR: Robert Lawand

Robert Lawand is a competitive long distance runner for the University of Toronto Track and Cross Country teams where he competes in distances from 3km to 10km on the track, road and cross country course. Robert is an experienced coach who has worked with individuals of all ages and ability levels in previous coaching jobs as the 2018 Hart House Learn to Run Coach, Volunteer Coach at the University of Toronto Junior Development program and as the track and field coach at Montcrest Private school. Robert continues to be heavily involved in the running community through his academic studies at the University of Toronto in the faculty of Kinesiology and through his placement experiences at The Runner’s Academy, Bloor West Physiotherapy clinic and work at the Running Room.
